Guthrie Castle, Angus — the private residence of Dan Peña

Guthrie Castle is a castle and country house in Angus, Scotland — situated in the village of Guthrie, ten kilometres east of Forfar and twenty-nine kilometres north-east of Dundee. The original tower dates to the 15th century, with much of the present building of distinguished 19th-century origin.

"A 156-acre private estate encompassing a loch, a horseshoe walled garden dating to 1614, a 9-hole golf course, and a 160-year-old hedge shaped into a Celtic Cross."

The estate accommodates 24 bedrooms: 13 within the Castle itself, with the remainder distributed across four estate cottages — each a short walk from the Castle. A grand pavilion serves Dan's exclusive business seminars, the only events for which Guthrie Castle opens its gates.

Guthrie Castle is now the private home of Mr. Peña and his family. It is not a hotel, wedding venue, or tourist attraction.

Dan Peña
The Trillion Dollar Man

Guthrie Castle is the private residence of Dan Peña — one of the world's most celebrated performance coaches, business mentor, and creator of the Quantum Leap Advantage (QLA) methodology.

Since acquiring Guthrie Castle, Peña has transformed this ancient Scottish seat into the world's most exclusive setting for business transformation — the singular location where he hosts his legendary QLA Castle Seminars. Those who have attended now collectively control hundreds of billions in enterprise value.

"It will bring back the fire and brimstone which Dan became famous — or infamous — for whilst giving seminars from 1993 to 2000."

The Castle is not a hotel, not a conference centre, and not a venue for hire. It is the private home of Mr. Peña, opened solely for those invited to his QLA Seminar programme.

The Castle Chronicle

Guthrie Castle has stood since 1470, witnessing the turbulence of Scottish history, the rise and fall of noble houses, and over five centuries of continuous habitation.

c. 1470 The original tower is built by the Guthries of Kincaldrum. Sir David Guthrie — Armour Bearer to James II, Lord High Treasurer of Scotland, and Lord Chief Justice — is the first laird.
1513 Sir Alexander Guthrie falls at the Battle of Flodden — one of the bloodiest defeats in Scottish history, with some ten thousand Scots killed.
1614 The horseshoe-shaped walled garden is laid out — still intact today, nearly four centuries on, and a centrepiece of the estate's grounds.
1818 A distinguished 19th-century mansion is added to the original tower, giving the Castle much of its present grandeur. Further extended in 1848 by architect David Bryce.
c. 1860s The 160-year-old Celtic Cross hedge is planted — now one of the estate's most distinctive features, visible across the grounds.
Present Guthrie Castle is the private residence of Dan Peña and his family, and the exclusive home of his world-renowned QLA Castle Seminars.
